Installing the Catalogic DPX GuardMode Agent
Take the following steps to install the Catalogic DPX GuardMode agent on the Microsoft Windows system:
Open File Manager for Microsoft Windows. Create a new empty folder:
C:\test.
Open the installation program file (CatalogicGuardModeAgent-0.00.00-windows-x64-installer.exe) and see the Setup window of the Catalogic DPX GuardMode agent.
In the Installation directory page, specify the absolute path of the folder in which the Catalogic DPX GuardMode agent components are stored. The default folder path is
C:\Program Files\DPX\Ransomware Detection Agent\. Click Next to proceed.In the Additional configuration page, create a new credential for the REST API of the Catalogic DPX GuardMode agent. Enter a new password.
In the Notification setup section, ensure Setup DPX notifications is checked. If you wish to disable the notification feature in the Catalogic DPX GuardMode agent, clear this box and go to Step7. Click Next to proceed.
In the DPX configuration page, enter the following fields:
Hostname
Enter either the IPv4 address or the host name of the Catalogic DPX Master Server. For example, “10.0.0.100” or “dpx-seattle”. Ensure that either one is resolvable and accessible from your system. Username
Enter the user name of the HTML-5 based DPX Management Interface in the Catalogic DPX Master Server, that is, “sysadmin”. Password and Verify Password
Enter the password of this user, that is, sysadmin.
Click Next to proceed.
In the Ready to Install page, click Next to close the Setup window.
Open Task Manager, open the Services tab, and ensure that you can see the new service, CatalogicGuardModeAgent, and the status is showing “Running”. This service automatically starts every time Microsoft Windows starts.
