The following options specific to the Catalogic DPX Block Data Protection for Oracle appear on the Restore Destinations Options dialog. These options can be set for each job definition.
Oracle Restore Mode
For Oracle logical view restores, determines whether to perform a regular restore, quick restore, or database clone. “Regular” is the default.
Regular | Perform a regular logical view restore. |
Clone Database | Perform a cloning operation. Cloning recovers your backed up data on an alternate node by way of Instant Access. |
Quick Restore | Perform a Quick Restore. Quick restore performs an Instant Access mapping to your backed up data. |
Oracle Files Quick Restore Root Directory
Specify a complete directory path to use the root directory under which all mappings for Quick Restore for Oracle are done. If this value is not set, it defaults to one of the following:
Microsoft Windows
<product directory>/mount/BEXrmancat_jobid/nodename/dbname
UNIX
/tmp/BEXrmancat_jobid/nodename/dbname

This option is used with cloning of Oracle databases. If the target node is UNIX, supply the user name of the owner of the Oracle Installation on the restore destination node. If this field is not populated, the value oracle appears.
Oracle Instance Password
This option is used with cloning of Oracle databases. If the target node is Windows, to create an Oracle Instance on the target node, supply a password. If this field is not populated, the value sysadmin is used.
Note. The Oracle Instance Password may appear in clear text in certain files and modules. Therefore, once cloning is complete, the password must be changed by the user.
