Elements of the Backup Window
These are the main elements of the Backup window.
Title bar
The title bar displays the backup mode. You determined the backup mode when you clicked a Backup Function Tab on the window.
Source Pane
The source pane displays the hierarchical structure of the source data in your Enterprise:
You can drill down to the file level by clicking the plus to the left of a resource icon.
Destination Pane
The destination pane displays the hierarchical structure of the destination devices and media pools defined in your Enterprise:
You can drill down to the media pool level or the device level by clicking the plus to the left of a resource icon. For a SAN configuration, you can drill down an additional level under Device to Device Path.
The top of the destination pane contains a selected source identifier (for example,
Destination for: Division2
) to aid in selecting a destination for the selected source. Each source–destination pair created in a backup job definition constitutes a distinct task within the backup job.Context Menus
In addition to the menu bar and the task panel, the backup window also contains function context menus. The function context menus vary based on backup mode and other conditions.
To access an item in a function context menu, do one of the following:
Right-click the Enterprise name or globe icon. Then select the desired item.
Right-click a node group name or icon. Then select the desired item.
Right-click a node name or icon. Then select the desired item.

Backup Menu
In addition to the common menu items (see Common Menu Bar Options in the User’s Guide), the Backup window also contains the Backup menu.
To access an item in the Backup menu, do one of the following:
From the menu bar, select Backup. Then select the desired item.
Use the keyboard shortcut [Alt+B], use the up-arrow and down-arrow keys to select the desired menu item, then press [Enter].
