Creating a Media Pool for Catalog Backups

Creating a dedicated media pool for Catalog backups enables you to quickly locate your latest Catalog backup. It also makes it easy to keep a set of tapes for Catalog backup with a shorter retention period than your normal backup tapes.

To create a media pool:

  1. Create a media pool for Catalog backups as you do for any other media pool. On the Configuration menu, select Media. The Media window appears.

  2. In the Media window, click Add Media to add media to your Enterprise.
