Step 5. VMware Restore Wizard: Select Target Datastore

Not displayed if restore destination is Original Location

  1. A list of datastores appears under the selected destination host.

  2. Select a datastore for the restore target. Note the following:

    • For VM or VMDK Full restore, both VMFS and NFS datastores are supported; however, if you select an NFS datastore, the Full restore uses cloning rather than storage relocation, resulting in significant delay before the restored VM or VMDK is available for use. Note that restores to NFS datastores are supported to the original location only.

    • For VM or VMDK Instant restores, Agentless VMware Backup automatically creates a VMFS datastore. Related Topics:
