General Installation Procedure for Exchange Nodes
The installation procedure for an Exchange node is identical to DPX installation on any Client node. For details, see Chapter 5: Local Installation in the Reference Guide. The installation is essentially self-explanatory, but note the following guidance regarding:
The Node Group screen
The Cluster Setup screen
Adding the Exchange Node to the Enterprise
During installation, a prompt will provide the option to add the node to the Enterprise. If you do not select the Yes, add the node into DPX Enterprise check box, or if the addition fails, you can add the node later, using the configuration function (Configure > Enterprise) on the management console. See Using the Management Console to Configure Exchange Nodes.
Using the Cluster Setup screen to Add a DAG Node
The DPX Cluster Setup screen appears when the installation process detects that a node is a member of a DAG, because a DAG is a specific type of cluster. Place the IP address of the DAG’s virtual node in the Virtual Node IP field that is located in the Cluster section of the dialog box. Note the following:
When adding an IP-less DAG, use IP address 255.255.255.255.
When adding DAG cluster nodes, ensure all clusters nodes are online.
All cluster nodes, including DAGs, require a virtual node, which can be any available IP address not associated with a machine. For details see the description of the Cluster Setup dialog Windows Installation on non-SharePoint Nodes in the Reference Guide.
