Configuring the Tape Library

Configuration of StorageTek ACS library within the management console is basically the same as with any other tape library.

  1. Open the Configure Devices window by selecting the Configure tab from the Function Tab bar and then clicking Devices.

  2. Open the Add Tape Library dialog in the right pane.

  3. In the Add Tape Library dialog, give the ACS tape library a logical name. Select Yes in the Storage Area Network window if the Library’s drives are SAN devices.

  4. For Tape Library type, select ACSLS. This changes the Controller ID field to ACS Number and disables the Using Slot and Cleaning Slot fields.

  5. In the Controller Node field, select the node where the ssi (UNIX) or LibAttach (Windows) was configured. See Configuring the Client.

  6. Enter the ACS ID (usually 0).

  7. Select Add on the task menu at the top right of the right pane. If you are unable to see the task menu, resize the right pane.

Note. The cleaning threshold is honored with ACS Libraries.
