Cluster Considerations for Exchange

On Windows clusters, DPX supports both active-active and active-passive configurations of supported versions of Exchange. Cluster Continuous Replication is supported (with the latest Exchange Service Packs) with DPX for File backups and restores.
DPX always follows the active database in an Exchange CCR cluster. Although Exchange is located on each cluster node's physical disk, DPX EXCH disk is only visible under the virtual node and not under the physical nodes of the cluster. At the time of backup or restore, the source or target used depends on what is currently active in the CCR cluster.
Restore to an Exchange CCR database requires the user to suspend replication among cluster nodes during the time of restore. For information about suspending Exchange cluster nodes, see the following Microsoft website: .
