Deleting a Key
Key deletion is a fast way to make the backups that used that key unrecoverable. For example, if you have sensitive information on tape which you now want to effectively erase, consider deleting the key.
Warning! Carefully consider key deletion as it effectively expunges all the backup instances that were encrypted with that key.
To delete a key from a keyring:
Open the Configure Keyrings window by selecting Configure from the Function Tab bar and clicking Keyrings.
Do one of the following:
Right-click the key description or icon to display a context menu. The selection is indicated by the selection check box next to the key icon. Then select Delete.
In the left pane, select the key you want to delete and do one of the following:
From the menu bar, select Keyring > Delete Key.
On the task panel, click Delete Key.
A proceed with key deletion message box appears.
Click Yes. The key disappears from the Configure Keyrings resource tree.
