Chapter 18: Microsoft SharePoint
You can protect your Microsoft SharePoint assets by using Catalogic DPX. More precisely, you can use Catalogic DPX Block Data Protection for a stand-alone Microsoft SharePoint system and Microsoft SharePoint Farms. You can also use the file-level data protection for the Microsoft SharePoint assets. For more information about file-level backup for SharePoint, see Chapter 51: SharePoint Interfaces in the Reference Guide.

While installing Microsoft SharePoint on a single server, you usually have a single application of Microsoft SharePoint that is deployed on multiple servers. Such a configuration is sometimes referred to as a Microsoft Share farm. The servers in a SharePoint (server) farm, that is, front-end web servers, application servers, and database servers, will often perform very distinct tasks that fulfill unique SharePoint requirements. It is the combination of these different server types working together that provide the full set of SharePoint functionality.
Tip. Microsoft Corporation recommends Microsoft SharePoint farms configurations even if there is only one node in the farm, to accommodate additional nodes later.
