Adding, Editing, or Deleting VMware vCenter to the Enterprise Using the Java-based DPX MI

In addition to the HTML5-based DPX Management Interface, you can register VMware vCenters with Catalogic DPX by adding VMware nodes. VMware vCenters to a dedicated node group, even if you only have one VMware vCenter.

Take the following steps to add a node of VMware vCenter from the Java-based DPX Management Interface:

  1. Log in to the Java-based DPX Management Interface. Open the Configure tab in the function tab bar.

  2. In the task pane, open Enterprise in the Configuration Operations section.

  3. In the navigation tree, right-click the node group that you want to add a new VMware node, and click Add Node to open the Add Node pane.

  4. In the Add Node pane, select or enter the following values in the fields:

    Logical Node Name

    Enter a name of the node.

    Access Method

    Select VMWARE.

    Resolvable Node Name or IP Address

    Enter the host name or the IPv4 address of the VMware vCenter or VMware ESXi server.

    Port No.

    Enter the port number so that Catalogic DPX can access the VMware vCenter. The default value is 443.

    Username

    Enter the username of the VMware vCenter.

    Password

    Enter the password of the VMware vCenter.

    Click Add to add a node that is based on the given configurations. Or, click Test to check if Catalogic DPX can access and register the VMware vCenter.

    Ensure that you can see the VMware node in the navigation tree of the Enterprise.

    To edit the VMware node, right-click it in the navigation tree of the Enterprise, and click Edit Node. Similarly, to delete the VMware node, right-click it and click Delete Node.
