Editing a Device
To check the status of a device or edit a device definition:
Click Configure on the Function Tab bar of the window, then click Devices.
Open the Edit Device dialog in the right pane by doing one of the following:
Right-click the device name or icon to display a context menu. The selection is indicated by the selection check box next to the icon and the Edit Device dialog appears in the right pane. Then select Edit.
In the left pane select the device you want to edit and do one of the following:
From the menu bar, select Device > Edit Device.
On the task panel, click Edit Device.
The Edit Device dialog appears.
For a non-SAN device, revise the Logical Node Name, Device ID, and Comment fields as needed. For a description of these fields, see Adding a Device.
For a SAN device, revise the Comment field as needed.
To change the Unique ID field, you must first set the Allow to Update Unique ID option using the Option menu.
Select Apply on the task menu at the top right of the right pane. If you are unable to see the task menu, resize the right pane.
Note. You cannot use the Edit function to change the inactive fields. To change these fields, you must delete the original device then add a new device. This is necessary when upgrading to a new device type.
