Checkpoint Restart Considerations

The Catalogic DPX Block Data Protection provides checkpoint restart capability for Block backups. Checkpoint restart makes it possible to automatically retry a failed backup task at the data block where the backup stalled. Checkpoint restart is valid for jobs that have stalled due to communication interruptions but are still running. Checkpoint restart will not retry failed or suspended jobs. You can control the number and frequency of checkpoint restarts by setting values for the following options:

Task Data Transfer Retry Count

Set to a number of restart attempts.

Task Retry Intervals (Minutes)

Set to a length of time in minutes between restart attempts.
