Prerequisites for Remote Seeding

• Defragment the source volume before starting the remote seeding process.

• Ensure the tape drive or disk directory is properly configured before starting this task. For more information about configuring a tape drive or a disk directory, see Chapter 13: Configuring Media in the Reference Guide.

• In cases where a server or volume is backed up by more than one backup job while running the backup job, the job log may indicate that the SnapVault relationship is being modified. The attributes for the spare node are being modified to match the attributes of the Block backup job you are running.
