Elements of the Restore Window

  • Restore Window: Title bar

    The title bar displays the Restore mode. You determined the Restore mode when you clicked a Restore on the Window.

  • Restore Window: Source Pane

    The source pane displays the hierarchical structures of the source Device Cluster and Node Group selection spaces in your Enterprise:

    + Enterprise
         + Device Cluster
              + Device
                   Device Path (for SAN configurations)
         + Node Group
              + Node
                   + Disk or File System
                        + Directory
                             File

    In the device cluster selection space, you can drill down to the device level by clicking the plus to the left of a resource icon. For a SAN configuration, you can drill down an additional level under Devices to Device Paths. In the node group selection space, you can drill down to the file level by clicking the plus to the left of a resource icon.

  • Restore Window: Destination Pane

    The destination pane displays the hierarchical structure of the restore destination in your Enterprise:

    + Enterprise
         + Node Group
              + Node
                   + Disk or File System
                        Directory

    You can drill down to the directory level by clicking the plus to the left of a resource icon.

  • Restore Window: Context Menu

    In addition to the menu options and task panel buttons, the restore window also contains function context menus. The function context menus vary based on restore mode and other conditions.

    To access an item in a function context menu:

    • Right-click the Enterprise name or globe icon. Then select the desired item.

    The various function context menu items are described in the topics that follow.

  • Restore Window: Menu Bar

    In addition to the common menu options (see Common Menu Bar Options in the User’s Guide), the Restore window also contains the Restore menu.

    To access an item in the Restore menu, do one of the following:

    • From the menu bar, select Restore. Then select the desired item.

    Use the keyboard shortcut [Alt+R], use the up-arrow and down-arrow keys to select the desired menu item, then press [Enter].

  • Restore Window: Task Panel Buttons

    In addition to the common task panel buttons, the Restore window also contains eleven function-specific buttons.
