Impact of Equipment Upgrades
After tape library setup, changes or upgrades to equipment could impact the product’s ability to correctly detect devices. For example, if a replaced drive has a new SCSI ID or if SCSI IDs are reordered or reassigned, the product's configuration and the tape library's configuration will be out of synch. In these instances, you must rescynch the configuration by manually updating DPX or by deleting the device configuration and reconfiguring using the procedures described in the Tape Library Setup topics.
Specific examples of tasks that might trigger this situation include replacement of hardware, upgrading firmware, and swapping out fiber equipment.
