Configuring the ACS Device

Once the library is defined, configure the tape devices and/or SAN paths. The tape device configuration for SAN and non-SAN ACS libraries is the same as for any other tape library device (see Adding a Tape Library), with the following exceptions:

  1. When the Add Device (or Add SAN Path) window is opened, the Device No. field is replaced by the ACS Device ID field, containing a dropdown box that lists all the drives visible to the ssi.

  2. Items in the list take will appear as follows:

    ACS=0, LSM=0, PNL=2, DRV=2.

ACS=0, LSM=0, PNL=2, DRV=3

The other fields are the same as with standard library tape devices. The Device ID is the name of the Device as the client sees it (//./tape0, /dev/rmt/0, etc.).
