Deleting a Tape Library
To delete a tape library, first make sure it is empty; that is, there are no devices assigned to it.
Warning! Make sure the tape library you delete is not specified in any backup definition. This is especially important for scheduled backups because absence of a tape library specified in a backup definition causes the backup task to fail.
To delete an existing tape library definition:
Click Configure on the Function Tab bar of the window, then click Devices.
Do one of the following:
Right-click the tape library name or icon to display a context menu. The selection is indicated by the selection check box next to the tape library icon and the edit device pool dialog appears in the right pane. Then select Delete.
In the left pane, select the tape library you want to delete and do one of the following:
From the menu bar, select Device > Delete Tape Library.
On the task panel, click Delete Tape Library.
A dialog box prompts you to confirm the deletion.
Click Yes on the dialog box. The tape library disappears from the left pane.
Note. If the tape library still contains devices, a device cluster not empty warning message appears. To empty the tape library, delete all devices assigned to it.
