Elements of the Migrate Window
The Migrate window opens as a two pane window. The left (source) pane contains the source selection spaces, and the right (destination) pane contains the destination selection spaces.
Migrate Window Source Pane
The source pane can be viewed in two different ways – By Media or By Job. For instructions on toggling between the two source pane views (By Media and By Job), see Determine Source Pane View”.
By Media: The source pane displays the hierarchical structure of the source devices and media pools in your Enterprise:
You can drill down to the media volume level or the device level by clicking the plus to the left of a resource icon. For a SAN configuration, you can drill down an additional level under Devices to Device Path.
By Job: The source pane displays the hierarchical structure of the backup jobs in your Enterprise:
You can drill down to the backup instance level.
Migrate Window Destination Pane
The destination pane displays the hierarchical structure of the destination devices and media pools defined in your Enterprise:
You can drill down to the media pool level or the device level by clicking the plus to the left of a resource icon. For a SAN configuration, you can drill down an additional level under Devices to Device Path.
Migrate Function Context Menu
The Function context menu is another way of initiating tasks in the Migrate window.
To access an item in the Function context menu:
Right-click the Enterprise name or icon. Then select the desired item.
Migrate Menus
In addition to the common menu options (see Common Menu Bar Options in the User’s Guide), the Migrate window also contains the Migrate menu.
To access an item in the Migrate menu:
From the menu bar, select Manage Tapes – Migrate. Then select the desired item.
Migrate Task Panel Buttons
In addition to the common task panel buttons, the Migrate window also contains eleven function-specific buttons.
