Take the following steps to run the Snapshot Verification Utility for NetApp storage systems:
Edit the iax.bat file in the Catalogic DPX tools folder.
Set parameters that are specific to your Enterprise:
Set SECONDARY_FILER
to the host name/IP address of your NetApp secondary.
Set SECONDARY_VOLUMENAME
to the volume on the secondary where the Snapshots to verify exist.
Set LOCAL_MOUNTPOINT
to a free drive letter on the server where the Snapshots, prior to verification, will be mapped to.
Set the INTERVAL
parameter. This parameter decides how long to wait, in seconds, between an unmap and map operation. If you are having trouble mapping volumes when running the Snapshot Verification Utility, increase INTERVAL
.
Set the LATEST
parameter. This parameter decides whether to verify the latest Snapshots on the volume or all Snapshots on the volume. A value of ‘--latest’ results in only the latest Snapshots being verified, whereas a blank value results in all Snapshots being verified.
Open the Catalogic DPX command prompt. Type iax
and Press [Enter].
When the verification completes, an XML report named iAExerciser.xml is placed in the logs folder of Catalogic DPX. A log file named iAExerciser.log details the activities performed during the verification process.
