The Migrate Function

The purpose of the Migrate function is to copy data from one media volume to another media volume. The Migrate function allows the source media and the destination media to be of dissimilar types. Thus data can be migrated from a LTO to a DLT, for example. This function is especially beneficial for virtual tape library (VTL) to physical tape migration (V2P). This is also useful for migrating Backup to DiskDirectory jobs to tape. See Backup to DiskDirectory.
