Requirements and Considerations for Exchange Backup and Restore

It is not recommended to use a master server as an Exchange server.
Catalogic DPX Block Data Protection agents use Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service to back up Microsoft Exchange Server on Microsoft Windows nodes.
Do not install Exchange on %SystemRoot% (which is usually the C: drive). Doing so may interfere with Block restore and Instant Access.
Catalogic DPX Block Data Protection for Exchange is not supported for client nodes running Windows Server 2012 with ReFS enabled. See Microsoft ReFS Support.
