About SAP Restores
Using DPX for SAP restores is, once again, transparent from the standpoint of the database administrator. The administrator simply starts the restore as he normally would. Brrestore determines what files need to be restored and passes the list of files along with their destination to Backint.
Backint tells the master server to restore the files specified by Brrestore. At this point the job is a normal restore and as such benefits from DPX’s superior performance. You can monitor it the same as with any job. The job is governed by settings specified in the initsid.utl file. When DPX finishes, Backint passes status information to Brrestore to complete the restore.
