Step 2: Complete the Initially Intended Recovery by Restoring from the vStor

After Restore to Catalogic vStor completes, proceed to the original recovery by taking the following steps:

  1. Launch the VMware Restore Wizard: a. On the function tab bar, click Restore, then on the Task Panel, click Agentless VMware. b. On the Task Panel, under Job Tasks, click Agentless VMware Restore Wizard. This launches the Agentless VMware Virtual Machine Restore Wizard.

  2. The Agentless VMware Virtual Machine Restore Wizard is self-explanatory. However, for specific details, see VMware Restore Wizard for the Java-based DPX Management Interface.

  3. Following is important information specific to this type of restore operation:

    • On the Select Source window, drill down to the VM and select the backup instance (as defined by Backup Date/Time) that was restored in the Step 1.

    • On the Select Source window, check the Restore from Alternate Secondary option – unless in Step 1 the backup instance was restored to the original vStor and original volume.

  4. Run the restore job.
