Restoring catalogs

You can restore catalogs by using the Java-based DPX Management Interface.

Tip. Unlike other types of jobs, you cannot save or schedule Catalog Restore jobs.

Take the following steps to restore a catalog:

  1. Log in to the Java-based DPX Management Interface. Open the Catalog tab in the function tab bar.

  2. In the task pane, open Restore in the Catalog Operations section.

  3. In the Source pane, right-click the Enterprise, and click Run and Monitor.

A message box prompts you to confirm the restoration. Click Yes to proceed with the Catalog restore job. The dedicated job monitor is described in Monitoring a Catalog Job.

Note. To begin using the restored Catalog, you are required to log out of Catalogic DPX and back in.

If you have a tape library attached to the master server, reinstall the Catalogic DPX driver information by using the DPX Detect utility. See Device Detection in the Reference Guide.
