Prerequisites for Restoring the Microsoft Hyper-V Backups

Catalogic DPX Backup Agent for Microsoft Hyper-V must be installed and running on the Microsoft Hyper-V host. For more information see Installing Catalogic DPX Backup Agent for Microsoft Hyper-V on the Microsoft Hyper-V host.

An available Microsoft Hyper-V host must exist in the Enterprise to serve as a restore target host.

A previous Microsoft Hyper-V Backup job must have completed successfully and be within the backup job retention range. To run a Hyper-V backup job, see Backing Up Microsoft Hyper-V VMs.

A vStor server must exist and be configured on the Catalogic DPX Master Server appliance as part of the Enterprise.

Running a Hyper-V restore job can be done only through the HTML5-based DPX Management Interface.

After running a Hyper-V restore job, the VM configuration file is restored to the default VM configuration location based on the settings of the Hyper-V host.

The restored size of backing virtual disks for a VM restored as part of a Hyper-V restore job may be slightly less than or more than the source virtual disks in the VM.
