Restoring Data ONTAP Clusters

Data ONTAP provides limited information to the master server Catalog. The result is that details below the volume level do not appear in the tree structure of the restore destination pane. For restoring backups that were performed without file history processing, the source tree structure may not expand below the volume level. If file history processing was used, the source tree is fully browsable, but the destination tree may not expand below the volume level.

To restore specific directories, files, or snapshots below the volume level:

  1. Drill down to the volume.

  2. Right-click on the volume. Select Specify a New Path. The NDMP Directory Path dialog appears.

  3. In the NDMP Directory Path dialog box, enter the path to the directory, file, or snapshot you want to choose, relative to the volume starting point. You can specify multiple files or directories if you separate them by a space. If file or directory names contain spaces, enclose them in double quotes so they are treated as a single entry. When specifying a path, use UNIX syntax ( / ).
