Protecting Backups Residing on NetApp Storage

NetApp storage systems may contain the primary data or the secondary data. The primary data includes CIFS, NFS, or LUN data. The secondary data includes the Catalogic DPX Client, NetApp Open System SnapVault (OSSV), and the NetApp SnapVault backups or the NetApp SnapMirror replicas. All these type of data can be protected to removable media such as tapes by choosing DUMP or SMTape (SnapMirror-to-tape). By using the NDMP backup selection, any data, including the Catalogic DPX Block backup files can be backed up for additional data protection or long term retention needs.
