Step 6. VMware Restore Wizard: Virtual Machine Options
Not displayed if restore destination is Original Location
This page appears for both Instant and Full VM restore. The tabs contain fields populated by default with values from the source VM.
Enter values or accept the default values. The following describes the fields under the tabs:
Name
Virtual Machine Name | By default the source VM name displays. You can change this. |
Virtual Machine Memory (MB) | By default the source VM memory displays. You can change this. |
Start VM after it is created | Select this check box if you want the restored VM to power on automatically. This option is recommended. If you do not power on the VM, a Full restore will be accomplished with cloning rather than storage relocation, resulting in unavailability of the VM until the cloning completes. |
Resource
Resource Pool | Select from the pull-down list a resource pool for the new VM. |
Network | Select from the pull-down list a network for the new VM. The networks that display are those the vCenter supports for the host. |
iSCSI Adapter | Select from the pull-down list a software or hardware iSCSI adapter. The adapters that display are those present on the host. |
CPU Count | You can change this value. It is not recommended to change it to a value lower than the displayed source value. |
