Tape Library Installation on AIX

This procedure explains how to install a tape library for an AIX controller node. Note that for AIX, detect -i will not install the media changer device file; thus you must use one of the detailed procedures described below.

Note. For the AIX platform only, you should install the media changer device file (as described in this chapter), then verify installation (as described in the next chapter), then perform tape library configuration using the Device Configuration Wizard. See Chapter 33: Device Configuration Wizard.

The procedure to install the media changer device file on an AIX system depends on the tape library type being installed.
