Configuring AWS

In DPX, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Volume Gateway can be used as a destination for file level backup and NDMP backup. The backup target is defined in as a Disk Directory. For configuration procedures, read knowledge base article 47226 – Using AWS Cloud with DPX.

In DPX, AWS Gateway VTL (Virtual Tape Library) is also supported. The backup target is defined as a tape library. For additional information, read knowledge base article 47245 – Using AWS Gateway VTL with DPX.

DPX can use the vStor server as a backup target. When vStor is used, you can also archive both Agentless VMware and Block data to AWS S3, MinIO, StorageGRID, Cloudian, Wasabi, and Scality Ring. For more information, see Chapter 8: Cloud Storage in the User’s Guide.
