Permissions for DPX SharePoint Object Recovery
SPOR must be installed on a workstation running under an account which has access to the desired data. A Domain Administrator account, with access to administer and manipulate Active Directory, Cluster, SharePoint Farm, and SQL is recommended.
An alternate Active Directory account can be used with the SPOR tool with the following instructions:
Add the user to the Farm Administrators group in the Central Administration. This grants permissions for performing most of the administrative tasks in the Central Administration.
Add the user to the Site Collection Owners of the Central Administration. This is needed for site collection management tasks within the Central Administration.
Make the user a member of the Administrators group of the server. Because adding a user to the Farm Administrators group does not give administrative rights in the Central Administration, you also need to add the user to the Administrators group of the server.
These are additional tasks that can performed to check that the account has adequate permissions:
From the SharePoint Web Application Management system, select the option Create or extend Web application. This option is security trimmed, unlike other options that are not available to you in this tab. To perform this operation, you need to be a local administrator.
From the InfoPath Forms Services section, select the option Upload from template. To perform this operation, you need to be a local administrator.
From the Office SharePoint Shared Services section, the option Create or configure this farmfs shared services. To perform this operation, you need to be a local administrator.
