Prerequisites for the Catalogic DPX Software Update System

The following is required to use the Software Update System:

• System administrator privileges for Catalogic DPX.

The following are recommended to use the Software Update System:

• An ID and password for the Software Update System website.

Note. The URL of the Software Update System website is in the Software Site URL field in the Advanced section of the Autoupdate dialog box. In the DPX management console, select Autoupdate from the Help menu on any function window, then, in the Autoupdate dialog, click Advanced to see the Software Site URL field.

• Access to the Internet from the master server node – for the purpose of validating and downloading the latest Software Update packages.

Note. If the Software Update System website is unavailable or Internet access is unavailable from the master node, a Software Update package can be downloaded elsewhere and placed in a specific location on the master server. However, the recommended method is to use the Software Update System web service.
