For a detailed description of backup scheduling, see Specifying a Schedule for the Backup Job. For Block backups, the backup type (base, incremental, or differential) is irrelevant. For any volume backed up in a DPX Block Data Protection job, the initial backup is a base backup, and all subsequent backups are incremental; that is, only changed blocks are transferred. Note that an instance of a Block backup (base or incremental) is a virtual image of the entire source volume at a particular point in time.
