Administrator privileges are required to run DPX installer packages.
After completion of an install, uninstall, or upgrade, it is essential to reboot the machine either immediately or before using DPX for software update (autoupdate), backup, or restore.
If DPX is installed on a VM, Agentless VMware Backup can be set to skip that VM. See Backing Up VMware VMs in the User's Guide.
Before beginning a master server upgrade, it is essential to protect the Catalog, in the event recovery of the master server is needed. Ensure you back up the catalog and archive the Catalog backup job log with the Catalog backup media to maintain the necessary records to facilitate a master server recovery. See Backup: Protecting the Catalog Data in the User's Guide.
For Windows and Linux nodes, a reboot is required after you install, upgrade, or uninstall DPX. This reboot must be done prior to running the next scheduled backup or restore operation.
