Overview of Configuration Functions
Use the Configure functions to define new resources and default options to DPX. After initial configuration, use the Configure functions to display and modify your defined resources.
To access a Configuration function:
Click Configure on the Function Tab. Then select your desired function by clicking the appropriate option.
The Configuration functions are:
Enterprise | Names the Enterprise, defines nodes in the Enterprise, and arranges nodes in groups. Also manages parameter configuration. Note: Enterprise is the term for the total resources—nodes, storage devices, media, administrators, etc.—defined to a master server. |
Devices | Defines tape libraries and their tape drives. Also defines storage devices not associated with a tape library and arranges them in device clusters. |
Media | Defines media volumes (usually tape cartridges) and arranges them in media pools. |
Administrators | Defines privileged users (administrators) and specifies their privileges by assigning them privilege classes and resources. |
Job Folders | Defines sets of jobs for the purpose of assigning job privileges. |
Keyrings | Controls the management of data encryption keys. |
Defaults | Sets default options for backup, restore, and migrate jobs. |
Holidays | Defines days when scheduled jobs may be skipped. |
