Configuring Automatic Failover Functionality for SharePoint Farms

If you have multiple front-end servers in a SharePoint farm, you can configure automatic SharePoint control node failovers.
Click on the SharePoint application’s virtual node icon to display the Edit Node pane for that virtual node.
Edit the configuration of that virtual node, as follows:
Select the Yes radio button that appears next to the Enable Automatic Failover of Control Node feature on the Edit Node pane, to activate failover functionality for this SharePoint application.
If you want to designate a primary SharePoint control node, click the Control Node for Backup drop-down box, and then click on the SharePoint control node that you want to select for this purpose.
DPX will automatically activate the automatic failover feature if you select the Yes option for the Enable Automatic Failover of Control Node setting. You can change this setting later if you do not want to enable this feature. If you did not configure a primary SharePoint control node for this SharePoint application, and you run a browse, backup, or restore operation, DPX will automatically select an available SharePoint control node from the list of control nodes configured for this farm.
Note. If the primary SharePoint control node is not available for a browse, backup or a restore, and you did not activate the Enable Automatic Failover of DPX SharePoint control node option, then DPX will not select an alternate SharePoint control node and the attempted operation will fail.
