DPX Installation Scenarios for Exchange

The following describes five installation cases in three categories. For convenience, the cases are designated A1, A2, B, C1, and C2.

  • Installing on Exchange Standalone Servers: Cases A1 and A2

  • Installing on All Exchange Servers in a New DAG: Case B

  • Installing on an Exchange Server Added to an Existing DAG: Case C1 and C2

Installing DPX on Exchange Standalone Servers

  • Case A1. A new or upgraded Exchange server. DPX is not installed on the Exchange server:

    1. Install DPX on the Exchange Server.

    2. Ensure the Exchange server is added to the Enterprise (either at time of installation or afterward on the management console (Configure > Enterprise).

    1. Install on each Exchange server.

    2. The Cluster Setup screen will appear in the installation wizard. See Using the Cluster Setup screen to Add a DAG Node.

    1. Install DPX on the Exchange server.

    2. The Cluster Setup screen will appear in the installation wizard. See Using the Cluster Setup screen to Add a DAG Node.

    3. Ensure the Exchange server is added to the same node group as the other servers in the DAG. You can do this during installation or afterward on the management console (Configure > Enterprise).

    4. Run Auto Update on the master server. Select Auto Update DPX from the Help menu. See Chapter 7: Catalogic DPX Software Update System in the Reference Guide.
