Select Job Manager in the sidebar. Then click the New Backup Job button in the upper right corner.
Select S3 Object Storage as Job Type. You may also select the Job Folder to store the job in (for more information, see Job Manager). By default, all jobs are stored in the SS_DEFAULT job folder.
Specify the Job Name. For S3 Object Storage Backup, this field may contain no more than 64 characters. You can also add an optional description (up to 48 characters).
Click Add Source in the SOURCES pane to specify which buckets you want to back up. The Source selection dialog will appear.
Tip. You may view your current selection at any moment by clicking the Selected Items button next to the search field.
To close the Selected Items pane, use the “X” symbol or click anywhere outside the pane.
In the DESTINATION pane, specify the destination for the S3 Object Storage backup.
Important. Make sure to select vStor 4.12 or newer for S3 Object Storage backup.
Note. Choose vStor destination at the pool level. DPX will automatically create a separate volume in the selected pool for each source bucket.
Note. In Catalogic DPX 4.12, the destination for the S3 Object Storage Backup job cannot be edited. To change the backup destination, create a new job from scratch.
Optionally, add schedules in the SCHEDULES pane for the backup to be run on a regular basis. See Scheduling an S3 Object Storage Backup Job.
Specify the retention period for the backup. The default value is 90 days.
Click Save. The Run Job prompt will be shown, where you may run the job immediately, specifying the retention period (default is 90 days). If you select No, you can run the job later from the Job Manager section.
You can clear each item by clicking theicon next to the item, or clear all items at once using the Clear all button.
