GuardMode Agent update on Windows

Guard Mode Agent update process is very similar to installation. The main difference is that there is another Catalogic Guard Mode Agent version already installed in the operating system.

Running the installer

The user should run the installer of the version the Agent is to be updated to. The first element the user will notice is the dialog box below:

The installer detects there is another Catalogic Guard Mode Agent version already installed in the system. If the user wishes to update the Agent to a newer version, they should click on the Yes button. Next steps are the same as during the installation process. The user will be presented with an initial panel - they should simply click on the Next button to start the setup process. Then, the License Agreement screen will appear - the installation will not continue without accepting the agreement details.

Additional configuration

Here the user will be asked to provide a password for accessing your GuardMode Agent via its REST API.

In the New REST API password field the user should provide your their custom password.

DPX configuration panel (optional)

In the 'hostname' field the user should provide the address of their DPX Master Server; in the 'username' and 'password' fields the user needs to provide credentials that used to log into the DPX interface, which will allow the GuardMode Agent to connect and register a node allowing to configure Agent settings via the DPX WebUI.

Syslog configuration panel (optional)

In order to proceed with Syslog configuration, the user should follow the same steps listed in Windows installation section.

Finishing the update process

On the Ready to Install panel, after clicking the "Next" button the installation wizard will start the deployment of GuardMode Agent to the user's machine.

In order to verify the correct installation of GuardMode Agent, the user should confirm there is a service named "CatalogicGuardModeAgent" with status "Running" in the Services tab of Windows Task Manager.
