Adding Catalogic vStor Node to Catalogic DPX

To add a vStor Node to Catalogic DPX as a backup destination, follow these steps:

Prerequisites:

  • Ensure the DPX Master Server OVA appliance and the vStor server are network-visible to each other.

  • A vStor node can be part of only one node group.

  • Multiple vStor servers can be used in larger enterprise environments.

Adding a vStor Node to DPX:

  1. Open the web-based DPX Management Interface in a web browser.

  2. Navigate to Nodes and click Add Node.

  3. In the dialog, provide:

    • Group Name.

    • Node Name for the vStor server.

    • Resolvable hostname or IP address of the vStor server.

    • Username and password for the vStor server.

  4. Click Test to verify the entered details.

  5. Click Save to add the vStor server to the DPX Master Server.

  6. Optionally, edit additional fields like Volume Snapshot Count Error/Warning Levels and Free Space Threshold Levels, and click Apply.

Verify the addition by viewing the Catalogic vStor node on the Nodes page.

Tip. To access the vStor Management Interface, click on the vStor node and select Manage.
