System requirements

The Catalogic DPX Master Server

You can use the Catalogic GuardMode with the following editions of the Catalogic DPX Master Servers:

  • Catalogic DPX Master Server virtual appliance for VMware

  • Catalogic DPX Master Server virtual appliance for Microsoft Hyper-V

Tip. The Catalogic GuardMode is not available for the Catalogic DPX Master Server for Linux or Microsoft Windows (sometimes referred to as the “physical appliance”).

Operating systems

  • Windows Server 2012 R2

  • Windows Server 2016

  • Windows Server 2019

  • Windows Server 2022

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.10

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.4

  • AlmaLinux 8.10

  • AlmaLinux 9.4

  • OES 2023

Attention! Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 is not supported. This change is in line with the end of maintenance support phase 2 for RHEL 7 on June 30, 2024.

Tip. The following systems are not fully supported at the moment:

  • Windows 11 including Mixed Reality and IoT Edition

  • Windows 10 including Mobile and IoT Edition (32 or 64-bit)

  • Windows 8/8.1 except RT and Starter Edition (32 or 64-bit)

  • Windows 7 SP1 with Convenient Rollup Update or higher, any Edition (32 or 64-bit)

  • Windows Server 2012

Applications

The command-line interface for the Catalogic GuardMode requires PowerShell which is bundled with Windows. GuardMode has been tested with the following versions of PowerShell:

  • Microsoft Windows PowerShell 5.1 for Microsoft Windows Server 2022, 2019, and 2016

  • Microsoft Windows PowerShell 4.0 for Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2

At least 2 GB

Network

Allow Port 5000 (TCP) in the inbound rule.
