🆕Backup Verification
Backup Verification is a new set of features that combines the potential of Catalogic DPX and Catalogic vStor.
Restrictions. Backup Verification options are only available for Block and VMware backups with vStor as backup destination.
Backup Verification consists of two steps that can be controlled separately from the Advanced Options section in job definitions. In version 4.13, only block backup and VMware backup verification are supported.

Verification
If the Automatically verify toggle is set to on: When the backup is completed, vStor mounts the backup snapshot as a volume to verify that the backup data can be accessed properly.
Restrictions. Backup snapshots from the following file systems cannot be mounted on vStor:
storages formatted in Microsoft Resilient File System (ReFS)
B-tree File System (Btrfs)-formatted file storages
Logical Volume Management (LVM)
and therefore their verification will fail. Since Backup Verification consists of a single task per backup job, we recommend not mixing supported and unsupported file systems within one job definition. Otherwise, Backup Verification will fail even though some supported file system snapshots may have been mounted properly.
GuardMode Scan
If the Automatically scan with GuardMode toggle is set to on: When the backup snapshot is successfully mounted as a volume (automatic backup verification is completed), an automated GuardMode scan is run on vStor.
Verification Results
Below, is a sample view of a VMware backup job with completed Bacup Verification and GuardMode scan.

The Backup Verification section displays the start time, end time and verification status.
The GuardMode Scan section also displays the number of scanned and suspicious files. Click the Download scan results button to download a .CSV file with the details of suspicious files. Note that scan results are not available for download if no suspicious files have been found.
The Logs section (collapsed by default) displays detailed logs for the backup job instance.
If a GuardMode scan reports any warnings, they will also be shown under the Notifications icon in the top bar, and in the Events view.
