Common Function Window Tasks

This section describes tasks that can be executed from any function window.
Use the navigation trees that appear on many function windows to select data for inclusion in a job definition or select a resource for configuration.
Note that check boxes outlined in yellow are selectable, check boxes outlined in black are not selectable. The center of the selection check box turns red, indicating that the resource has been explicitly selected for backup. Anything subordinate to it in the tree structure, referred to as a descendant, is automatically selected. The center of the selection check box of each descendant resource turns gold, indicating that it has been selected, though not explicitly. The center of the selection check box of each ancestor resource turns half red diagonally, indicating that a resource descendant to it has been explicitly selected for backup.
Tip. On some windows, such as configuration windows, you can make multiple selections by holding Ctrl + click or holding Shift + click for a selection range.
Some task pages have navigation trees for Enterprises and associated nodes. Right-click any Enterprise item to see the list of available operations. The function context menu varies depending on the function window and its contents.
Tip. In windows where there is no Enterprise name or the globe icon, the function context menu, if present, is accessed by right-clicking the left-most column header.
